Town Council Meeting

May 19, 2020

Members Present: Mayor Ken Hamilton, James Coachman, Michael Capehart, Linda Smith, Ann Adams, and Kenneth Hart

Mayor Ken Hamilton opened the meeting at 6:00 P. M. Mayor Hamilton opened our meeting with a prayer. Mayor Hamilton and the Council led in the Pledge of Allegiance.


Council Member Adams made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from council meeting on April 27th and workshop on May 05th and except the minutes as presented.  There was a second by Council Member Adams and the motion was approved unanimously.


Approval for the April financial reports were presented to the Council by the Town Clerk. Council Member Coachman made a motion to approve the reports as presented.  A second by Council Member Hart and the motion was approved unanimously.


Mr. Stacy McCardle discussion on the grocery store.


Mayor Hamilton presented the fire report for the month of April.  Total of 21 calls for the month of April. 


Chief Money presented the police reports for the month of April.  There were a total of 116 calls for service, 03 reports written, 0 medical assists, 42 traffic warnings issued, 06 traffic citations issued, 0 traffic warrant, 0 drug arrest, 0 felonies, 01 misdemeanor, 0 Arrests Made and 8 auxiliary hours.


Reminder of Water and Sewer increase of 3%.


Mrs Sallie Bentley passed a way this morning around 2:30 at Extendicare Health she was 97 years old.  She served 15 years as Cottonwood Town Clerk and Magistrate in the 70’s and 80’s under Mayor Wyatt Lewis and Mayor Bobby Monk.


Debris pick up May 25th.


Discussion on Kelly Park.


There being no further business to come before this meeting, there was a motion by Council Member Coachman to adjourn the meeting.  A second by Council Hart and the meeting was adjourned at 6:58 P.M.
