Members Present: Mayor James Coachman, Michael Capehart, Angela Hackney, Garrett Lorton and George Stringer  

Members Absent: Garrett Lorton

Mayor Coachman opened the meeting at 6:00 P. M.   Mayor Coachman open meeting with a prayer.  Mayor Coachman and the Council led in the Pledge of Allegiance.

*Reported Cottonwood Ambulance & Rescue used 13,207 gallons of water for the month of December.

Mayor Coachman introduced the Pageant Director Kayleigh Crow and Chase Crow.  The queens each introduced their self. Little Miss Cottonwood Adeline Crowley, Young Jr. Miss Cottonwood Jessi Danford, Teen Miss Cottonwood Gabby Richards, Miss Cottonwood Olivia Ethridge (Absent) Future Little Miss Cottonwood Blakely Kirkland.

The Mayor thanked all the Director’s and the Queens for coming out to meet the Council.

Ann Adams discussed dog problem on Metcalf Street and asked about progress on the grocery store.  Mayor replied about the dogs we do not have a leash law.  Mayor also replied he had talked to Stacy McCardle today and he is still working on the building doing some painting and replacing some ceiling tiles.  Ann Adams also asked about the paving of Metcalf Street.  Council Member Granger has a few complaints about the rainwater draining across his yard.

Request approval for Houston County Road & Bridge to repair a large drain ditch behind Town Hall. Cost of material $3,754.15.  Council Member Capehart made a motion to approve the repair of the large drain ditch behind Town Hall with the cost of material of $3,754.15.  A second by Council Member Hackney and the motion was approved unanimously.

Mayor wanted to let the Council know Scott Raines Grass Cutting will be cutting the grass every two weeks starting this week for $700.00 a month.

Mayor replied the paving of Metcalf has begun.

Debris pick up will be January 25th.

There being no further business to come before this meeting, there was a motion by Council Member Capehart to adjourn the meeting.  A second by Council Member Stringer and the meeting was adjourned at 6:28 P.M.
