Town Council Meeting

February 18, 2020


Members Present: Mayor Ken Hamilton, Michael Capehart, James Coachman, Linda Smith, Ann Adams, and Kenneth Hart

Members Absent:  None

Mayor Ken Hamilton opened the meeting at 6:00 P. M.  Council Member Smith opened our meeting with a prayer.  Mayor Hamilton and the Council led in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Council Member Smith made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from council meeting on January 21st and workshop February 04th and approved them as presented.  There was a second by Council Member Adams and the motion was approved unanimously.

Approval for the January financial reports were presented to the Council by the Town Clerk. Council Member Coachman made a motion to approve the reports as presented.  A second by Council Member Smith and the motion was approved unanimously.

 

Mayor Hamilton presented the fire report for the month of January.  Total of 09 calls for the month of January.  Mayor also announced that the fire department will reapply for FEMA Grant.

 

 Colonel Smith will be presenting the police reports for the month of January.  There were 138 calls for service, 10 reports written, 0 medical assists, 17 traffic warnings issued, 07 traffic citations issued, 03 traffic warrant, 02 drug arrest, 02 felonies, 03 misdemeanor, 11 Arrests Made and 24 auxiliary hours.

 

Approval to except Resolution #2020-001 Grant 100% funded for Thermal Imaging Devices for the amount $8,400.00 from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program.  Council Member Capehart made a motion to except the Resolution #2020-001 Grant 100% funded for Thermal Imaging Devices for the amount $8,400.00 from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program.  A second by Council Member Adams and the motion was approved unanimously.

There being no further business to come before this meeting, there was a motion by Council Member Hart to adjourn the meeting.  A second by Council Member Coachman and the meeting was adjourned at 6:13 P.M.
