Members Present: Mayor Ken Hamilton, Michael Capehart, James Coachman, Linda Smith, Ann Adams, and Kenneth Hart  

 

Members Absent:

 

Mayor Hamilton opened the meeting at 6:00 P. M.   Council Member Coachman open meeting with a prayer.  Mayor Hamilton and the Council led in the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

*Reported Cottonwood Ambulance & Rescue used 1,561 gallons of water for the month of January.

 

*Approval to declare surplus to disposal of (Non-Functional Strobe / Halogen Light Bars / Non-Functional Radios / Non-Functional Video System which are obsolete and light bars with blue filters all to be destroyed and 2 Laptops.  Council Member Hart made a motion to

declare surplus to disposal of (Non-Functional Strobe / Halogen Light Bars / Non-Functional Radios / Non-Functional Video System which are obsolete and light bars with blue filters all to be destroyed and 2 Laptops.  A second by Council Member Coachman and the motion was approved unanimously.

 

*It’s that time again to fill out the Statement of Economic Interest form.

 

*The estimate for the repair on Grove Well $65,405.00. Donald Smith estimate to pull and inspect $4,4995.00 – Camera the well $1,500.00 – New pump $39,910.00.  Tick Roland Electrical / New Service $10,000.00.  Billy Helms – plumbing parts / labor $9,000.00.  Council Member Capehart made a motion to approve the repair on Grove Well $65,405.00.

A second by Council Member Adams and the motion was approved unanimously.

 

*Discussion on Troy Cable coming to Cottonwood.  Council Member Adams made a motion to approve a Franchise Ordinance with Troy Cable.  A second by Council Member Smith and the motion was approved unanimously. 

 

*Brandy White will be at the Community room on Thursday night.

 

*Discussion on the Rebuild Alabama Act (RAA) Annual Grant Program. The application the city submitted was evaluated and carefully considered for selection however I regret to inform Cottonwood that we were not awarded funding.  We will try again.

 

There being no further business to come before this meeting, there was a motion by Council Member Adams to adjourn the meeting.  A second by Council Member Coachman and the meeting was adjourned at 6:28 P.M.
