Members Present: Mayor Ken Hamilton, Michael Capehart, James Coachman, Linda Smith, Ann Adams, and Kenneth Hart

Mayor Hamilton opened the meeting at 6:00 P. M.   Council Member Smith open meeting with a prayer.  Council Member Smith and the Council led in the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

*(ALL STARS) This team is Cottonwood 1st ever District Champions.  They will be representing the Town of Cottonwood in the State Tournament starting Friday in Tuscaloosa, Alabama at Bower Park.  This team also went undefeated in the regular season.  The team players are Javin Coachman, Jayden Garrett, Taylor McCord, Hunter Edmonson, Kaidin Bedsole, Ethan Simmons, Than McNeill, Klete Meadows, Jaxxon Davis, Braylon Morris, Austin, and Zeke Alford. The Coaches: Donovan Davis, Dustin Morris, Kevin Meadows.  (GOOD LUCK)

 

*Reported Cottonwood Ambulance & Rescue used 3,491 gallons of water for the month of June.

 

*Approval to clean up behind Town Hall by Surgical Land clearing $1,500.00.  Council Member Coachman made a motion to approve the clean up behind Town Hall by Surgical Land Clearing for $1,500.00.  A second by Council Member Smith and the motion was approved unanimously.

Discussion on Tanks Cottonwood Road Tank, Fowler Road Tank, Todd Street Tank. Rates for Cottonwood Road service agreement for 1-5 years $26,397.00, 6-8 year’s $12,474.00, 9-10 year’s $13,597.00.  Fowler Road service agreement for 1-5 – year’s $19,679.00, 6-8 year’s $8,308.00, 9-10 years $9,055.00.  Todd Street service agreement for 1-5 years $25,487.00, 6-8 years $11,116.00, 9-10 years $12,116.00.   After discussion Council Member Capehart made a motion to approve service agreement on Fowler Road on maintenance program.  A second by Council Member Adams and the motion was approved unanimously.

 

Approval to repair the lights on engine. The parts from Sunbelt will run around $2,500.00.  No charge for labor by the fire department. After discussion Council Member Coachman made motion to purchase the parts from Sunbelt for around $2,500.00.  A second by Council Member Capehart and the motion was approved unanimously.

 

Mayor announced that Chief Tony Money’s, knee has locked up and will be out.

Mayor introduce Justin Pearson our new full time officer. 

 

Mayor discussed with the council about Steven Reynolds had to have his sewer line cleaned out and Mr. Reynolds wanted to see if the Town was going to reimbursement him back.  After discussion the Council decide there would not be any reimbursement.

 

Announcement:  Buss Smith received a plack from Houston County Board of Education for his good citizen ship for reporting the fire at the Cottonwood School.

 

There being no further business to come before this meeting, there was a motion by Council Member Coachmen to adjourn the meeting.  A second by Council Member Adams and the meeting was adjourned at 6:57 P.M.
