Town Council Meeting

July 23, 2019


 

Members Present: Mayor Ken Hamilton, James Coachman, Linda Smith, Ann Adams, and Kenneth Hart

Members Absent: Michael Capehart,  

Mayor Ken Hamilton opened the meeting at 6:00 P. M.  Council Member Smith opened our meeting with a prayer.  Mayor Hamilton and the Council led in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Council Smith made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from Council meeting, June 18th and workshop July 09th and approved them as presented.  There was a second by Council Member Capehart and the motion was approved unanimously.

Approval to waive the June financial reports were presented to the Council by the Town Clerk. Council Member Coachman made a motion to approve the reports as presented.  A second by Council Member Smith and the motion was approved unanimously.

Mayor Hamilton presented the fire report for the month of June.  There was an estimated 8,000 gallons of water used for the month of June.  Total of 9 calls for the month.

Colonel Smith presented the police report for the month of May.  Colonel Smith reported there were 130 calls for service, 3 reports written, 0 medical assists, 22 traffic warnings issued, 03 traffic citations issued,  0 traffic warrant, 0 drug arrest, 0 felonies, 1 misdemeanor, 1 Arrests Made and 0 auxiliary hours.

Approval to purchase a new set of tires from A-One for the amount of $602.20 for the Tahoe that Justin Pearson is driving.  Council Member Adams made a motion to purchase a new set of tires from A-One for the amount of $602.20 for the Tahoe that Justin Pearson is driving.  A second by Council Member Capehart and the motion was approved unanimously.

*Prayer for the kids in the All Star’s they will be traveling to North Carolina to play in the World Champion Ship games.

*Discussion on the grass cutting inside of the city limits.

There being no further business to come before this meeting, there was a motion by Council Member Coachman to adjourn the meeting.  A second by Council Member Hart and the meeting was adjourned at 6:19 P.M.
