Town Council Meeting

February 19, 2019

Members Present: Mayor Ken Hamilton, Michael Capehart, James Coachman, Ann Adams, Linda Smith and Kenneth Hart

Mayor Ken Hamilton opened the meeting at 6:00 P. M.  Mayor Hamilton opened our meeting with a prayer.  Mayor Hamilton and the Council led in the Pledge of Allegiance.
 
Council Coachman made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from council meeting, January 22nd and workshop February 05th and approved them as presented.  There was a second by Council Member Smith and the motion was approved unanimously.
 
Approval to waive the January financial reports were presented to the Council by the Town Clerk. Council Member Coachman made a motion to approve the reports as presented.  A second by Council Member Adams and the motion was approved unanimously.
 
January fire report will be moved until next meeting. 
 
Colonel Smith presented the police report for the month of January.  Colonel Smith reported there were 140 calls for service, 7 reports written, 0 medical assists, 37 traffic warnings issued, 08 traffic citations issued,  1 traffic warrant, 5 drug arrest, 0 felonies, 2 misdemeanor and 9 auxiliary hours. 
 
Discussion on upgrading LED Street Lights.  After discussion Council Member Adams made a motion to upgrade to LED Street Lights.  A second by Council Member Capehart and the motion was approved unanimously.
 
Discussion on an erosion on Hwy 53.  Approval to except proposal from Southern Site Works for the amount of $3,850.00.  And pay out of Capital Improvement Account.     Council Member Adams made a motion to except the proposal from Southern Sit Works for the amount of $3,850.00.  A second by Council Member Coachman and the motion was approved unanimously.
 
Approval for Betty Blanks to move a mobile home to 201 Woods Street.  Council Member Coachman made a motion to approval Betty Blanks to move a mobile home to 201 Woods Street.  A second by council Member Adams and the motion was approved unanimously. 
 
Announcement: On February 21 @ 6:00 p.m. Commissioner Doug Sinquefield will be at Town Hall to talk about State Line Road.
 
Announcement: April 13, come join us for the Down Home Afternoon at Bruner Park.

There being no further business to come before this meeting, there was a motion by Council Member Adams to adjourn the meeting.  A second by Council Member Hart and the meeting was adjourned at 6:36 P.M.
