Town Council Meeting
November 19, 2018
 

Members Present: Mayor Ken Hamilton, Michael Capehart, James Coachman, Ann Adams  Linda Smith and Kenneth Hart

 

Members Absent:  

 

Mayor Ken Hamilton opened the meeting at 6:00 P. M.  Council Member Linda Smith opened our meeting with a prayer.  Mayor Hamilton and the Council led in the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Council Smith made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from Council Meeting, October 18th and workshop November 06th and approved them as presented.  There was a second by Council Member Capehart and the motion was approved unanimously.

 

Approval to waive the October financial reports were presented to the Council by the Town Clerk. Council Member Coachman made a motion to approve the reports as presented.  A second by Council Member Adams and the motion was approved unanimously.

 

Mayor Hamilton presented the monthly fire report for October.  The fire department responded to 40 calls of service  2 Building Fire , 1 Brush and Grass Fire, 6 Medical Assist EMS, 1 Motor vehicle accident, 1 Arcing, shorted electrical equipment, 1 Assist Police, 4 Good intent call, 2 Dispatched, 22 severe weather.  There was an estimated 3,500 gallons of water that was used.

Colonel Smith presented the police report for the month of October.  Colonel Smith reported there were 152 calls for service, 06 reports written, 0 medical assists, 29 traffic warnings issued, 12 traffic citations issued,  0 traffic warrant, 0 drug arrest, 0 felonies, 0 misdemeanor and 16 auxiliary hours.

 

Approval to get Metcalf Street cleaned up from the tree limbs hanging from one end to the other. Pitts Tree Service quoted $2,800.00.  Council Member Adams made a motion to get Metcalf Street cleaned up from the tree limbs hanging from one end to the other by Pitts Tree Service quoted $2,800.00.  A second by Council Member Smith and the motion was approved unanimously.

 

*Waiting on Insurance adjuster on estimate for repairs in park, police cars and building.

*FEMA SCHOOL FOR Mayor and Town Clerk on 11/29/2018.

*Houston Street paving hopefully will start after 1st of year.

 

There being no further business to come before this meeting, there was a motion by Council Member Adams to adjourn the meeting.  A second by Council Member Capehart and the meeting was adjourned at 6:20 P.M.
