Town Council Meeting

Members Present: Mayor Ken Hamilton, Michael Capehart, James Coachman, Ann Adams and Linda Smith

Members Absent: Kenneth Hart

Mayor Ken Hamilton opened the meeting at 6:00 P. M.  Mayor Hamilton opened our meeting with a prayer.  Mayor Hamilton and the Council led in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Council Smith made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from Council Meeting, September 18th and workshop October 04th and approved them as presented.  There was a second by Council Member Capehart and the motion was Upproved unanimously.

pproval to waive the September financial reports were presented to the Council by the Town Clerk. Council Member Coachman made a motion to approve the reports as presented.  A second by Council Member Smith and the motion was approved unanimously.

Mayor Hamilton presented the monthly fire report for September.  The fire department responded to 10 calls of service  0 Structure Fire, 1 Fire Alarm Activation – No Fire / Unintentional, 5 Motor Vehicle Crash, 4 Medical and 1 service Call.  There was an estimated 2,000 gallons of water that was used.

Colonel Smith presented the police report for the month of September.  Colonel Smith reported there were 145 calls for service, 11 reports written, 0 medical assists, 40 traffic warnings issued, 10 traffic citations issued,  7 traffic warrant, 1 drug arrest, 2 felonies, 1 misdemeanor and 16 auxiliary hours.

Discussion on the storm, and the damages in the Town, Burner park fencing and Old Town Hall Building and there are damages to 2 police vehicles.  Discussion on a new generator for Town Hall.  Discussion on purchasing a trailer to haul the generator for the police department.   

Approval to except the BUDGET for Oct 2018 thru September 2019.  Council Member Smith made a motion to except the budget for October 2018 thru September 2019.  A second by Council Member Adams and the motion was approved unanimously.

There being no further business to come before this meeting, there was a motion by Council Member Coachman to adjourn the meeting.  A second by Council Member Capehart and the meeting was adjourned at 6:34 P.M.
