Town Council Meeting

Members Present: Mayor Ken Hamilton, James Coachman, Ann Adams, Linda Smith and Kenneth Hart
    
Members Absent: Michael Capehart
 
Mayor ken Hamilton opened the meeting at 6:00 P. M.  Mayor Hamilton opened our meeting with a prayer.  Mayor Hamilton and the Council led in the Pledge of Allegiance.
 
Mayor, and the Council introduce there self to the Cottonwood Queens.  The Cottonwood Queens also introduced there self to the Mayor and the Council. (Future Little Miss Cottonwood / Madilyn McDonald)  - (Little Miss Cottonwood / Kayla McNamara) –
(Young Jr. Miss Cottonwood / Emmaline Haywood) – (Junior Miss Cottonwood / Marlee Allen) (Cottonwood Princess / America Kristyle Contreras) – (Miss Cottonwood / Dakota Trusty) and absent (Teen Miss Cottonwood / Elizabeth Long).
 
Council Smith made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from Council Meeting, April 17th and Special called meeting, April 26th  and Workshop, May 01st and approved them as presented.  There was a second by Council Member Coachman and the motion was approved unanimously.
 
Approval to waive the April financial reports were presented to the Council by the Town Clerk. Council Member Coachman made a motion to approve the reports as presented.  A second by Council Member Smith and the motion was approved unanimously.
 
Mayor Hamilton presented the monthly fire report for April.  The fire department responded to 14 calls of service in the month of March. There was an estimated 7,500 gallons of water that was used. Mayor Hamilton announced that Cottonwood Fire Department will be hosting the Houston County Fire Association meeting tonight for the first time in Cottonwood.
 
Colonel Smith presented the police report for the month of April.  Colonel Smith reported there were 273 calls for service, 14 reports written, 0 medical assists, 54 traffic warnings issued, 12 traffic citations issued, 0 arrests made, 4 traffic warrants, 12 drug arrests, 3 felonies, 4 misdemeanors and 27 auxiliary hours. 
 
Approval to Declare Surplus on Resolution # 2018-006 on Vehicles: 1999 Chevrolet 1500 Silverado Silver, 2006 GMC Envoy Gold, 2000 Ford Expedition White, 1995 Toyota Corolla White, 1976 Ford F150 Orange, 1992 Chevrolet Lumina Blue, 2001 Ford Ranger White, 2005 Chevrolet Impala, 2008 Chevrolet Impala.  Council Member Coachman made a motion to declare surplus on item listed on Resolution #2018-0006 on the vehicles.  A second by Council Member Smith and the motion was approved unanimously.
 
Approval to purchase a set of tires for the GMC Sierra 2010 from A-One Tire Sales for the amount of $776.00.  Council Member Hart made a motion to approve the purchase a set of tires for the GMC Sierra 2010 from A-One Tires for $776.00.  A second by Council Member Adams and the motion was approved unanimously.
 
Mayor announced that the old day care is going to be tore down.
 
There being no further business to come before this meeting, there was a motion by Council Member Hart to adjourn the meeting.  A second by Council Member Coachman and the meeting was adjourned at 6:22 P.M.
