Town Council Meeting

Members Present: James Coachman, Ann Adams, Linda Smith and Kenneth Hart

Members Absent: Mayor Ken Hamilton, Michael Capehart

Mayor Pro-Tem Coachman opened the meeting at 6:00 P. M.  Mayor Pro-Tem Coachman opened our meeting with a prayer.  Mayor Pro-Tem Coachman and the Council led in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Council Smith made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from Council Meeting, March 20th and Workshop, April 03rd and approved them as presented.  There was a second by Council Member Hart and the motion was approved unanimously.

March financial reports were presented to the Council by the Town Clerk. Council Member Adams made a motion to approve the reports as presented.  A second by Council Member Smith and the motion was approved unanimously.

Assistant Fire Chief Hughes presented the monthly fire report for March.  The fire department responded to 14 calls of service in the month of March. There was an estimated 23,000 gallons of water that was used. The Fire Department wants the Red Cross to conduct the CPR classes, the cost will be $1,350.00 for 15 persons.  Council Member Hart made a motion to approve the CPR class conducted by the Red Cross with the cost of $1,350. For 15 persons.  A second by Council Member Smith and the motion was approved unanimously.

Colonel Smith presented the police report for the month of March.  Colonel Smith reported there were 149 calls for service, 05 reports written, 0 medical assists, 29 traffic warnings issued, 13 traffic citations issued, 1 arrests made, 1 traffic warrants, 0 drug arrests, 0 felonies, 0 misdemeanors and 24 auxiliary hours.

Reminder: SPIRIT OF SERVICE DAY will be meeting at the School parking lot on 04/21/2018 Saturday at 8:00 a.m. 

Approval to renew the Tax Revenue Agreement with RDS.  Council Member Smith made a motion to renew the Tax Revenue Agreement with RDS.  A second by Council Member Adams and the motion was approved unanimously.

There being no further business to come before this meeting, there was a motion by Council Member Hart to adjourn the meeting.  A second by Council Member Adams and the meeting was adjourned at 6:11 P.M.
