Town Council Work Shop

January 2, 2018

Members Present:   Mayor Ken Hamilton, James Coachman, Michael Capehart, Linda Smith, Ann Adams and Kenneth Hart  


Members Absent:


Mayor Hamilton opened the meeting at 6:00 P. M.  Mayor Hamilton opened meeting with a prayer. Mayor and the Council led in the Pledge of Allegiance.


*Cottonwood Rescue used 337 gallons of water for the month of December.


*Mayor announced that someone gave the Senior Citizen a donation of $1,000.00 to help with the senior bus repair.  The senior’s will be putting on a pancake supper. All proceeds will go toward the bus repair.


*Mayor announced Fire Department Christmas party on December 11 at the Senior Center.

All employees and Council are invited.


*Debris pick up will be January 30th.


*Police department computer is having problems. Approval to replace the computer for around $650.00 if can’t be fixed.  Council Member Capehart made a motion for approval for a new computer around $650.00 if needed.  A second by Council Member Adams and the motion was approved unanimously.


*The Snowman in the park has been vandalized.


3 Project Items to work on in 2018:

Council Member Hart: Grocery Store, Improvement by removing old building.

Council Member Coachman:  Paving Dyras Road.

Council Member Adams: Grocery Store, and may be getting produce store.

Council Member Smith: Add lighting, bathrooms and benches at Bruner Park and start locking the gates at night.  Also add curbing at School drain.

Mayor Hamilton: Adding outlets for lighting and splash pad, and bathroom at Bruner Park.  Add a pole barn and trying to get a grant for some paving project and get a developer to get sub-visions on housing to come into our town.


There being no further business to come before this meeting, there was a motion by Council Member Adams to adjourn the meeting.  A second by Council MemberSmith and the meeting was adjourned at 6:22 P.M.
