Town Council Meeting

Members Present:   Mayor Ken Hamilton, James Coachman, Michael Capehart, Ann Adams, Linda Smith and Kenneth Hart

Mayor Hamilton opened the meeting at 6:00 P. M.  Mayor Hamilton led our opening with a prayer.  Mayor Hamilton and the Council led in the Pledge of Allegiance.
 
Council Member Smith made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from Council Meeting, October 17th and Workshop, November 07th and approved them as presented.  There was a second by Council Member Capehart and the motion was approved unanimously.
 
October financial reports were presented to the Council by the Town Clerk. Council Member Coachman made a motion to approve the reports as presented.  A second by Council Member Adams and the motion was approved unanimously.
 
Mayor Hamilton presented the monthly fire report.  The fire department responded to 12 calls of service in the month of October. There was an estimated 3,000 gallons of water that was used.
 
Colonel Smith presented the police report for the month of October.  Colonel Smith reported there were 263 calls for service, 11 reports written, 0 medical assists, 33 traffic warnings issued, 8 traffic citations issued, 7 arrests made, 3 traffic warrants, 1 drug arrests, 0 felonies, 2 misdemeanors and 0 auxiliary hours.
 
Approval to replace windows in the Town Hall.  Council Member Adams made a motion to except the bid from Ronnie Williams to replace the windows in the Town Hall.  A second by Council Member Hart and the motion was approved unanimously.
 
Discussion on replacing air conditioner unit at Community Room.  Council wants three bids.  After bid receive clerk will call Council Member for a vote.
 
Approval to except Ordinance #2017-007 on leak adjustments. Council Member Coachman made a motion to except Ordinance #2017-007 on leak adjustments:
 
  1. LEAK WILL NEED TO BE REPORTED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE EVEN IF LEAK HAS BEEN FIXED AFTER REPORTED THE WATER DEPARTMENT WILL RUN A DATE LOG ON METER.  THE DATA LOG WILL PICK UP THE LEAK AND TELL WHEN THE LEAK STARTED AND STOPPED.
  2. AFTER PROOF OF THE LEAK THE WATER BILL WILL BE ADJUSTED ACCORDING. ONLY IF CUSTOMER HAS NOT RECEIVED AN ADJUSTMENT.
  3. ONE ADJUSTMENT PER CUSTOMER WITHIN 10 YEARS.
 
A second by Council Member Smith and the motion was approved unanimously.
 
*Old day care building is on the list to be tour down.
*Parking lot at old grocery store will be paved.
*Address 12280 Cottonwood Rd need dirt in driveway.
*Log Trucks have been warried about running stop sign.
*Discussion on Christmas Decorating for Burner Park.
*November 30, @ 6:00 p.m. Christmas Lighting at Kelly Park.
*Discussion on the Active Shooter Meeting that was held at the Methodist Church.
 
There being no further business to come before this meeting, there was a motion by Council Member Hart to adjourn the meeting.  A second by Council Member Capehart and the meeting was adjourned at 6:24 P.M.
