Members Present: Michael Capehart, Linda Smith, Ann Adams and Kenneth Hart  

 

Members Absent: Mayor Ken Hamilton, James Coachman

           

Town Clerk announced that the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem will not be attending the meeting tonight.  Town Clerk nominated Kenneth Hart to conduct the meeting, if the Council approved.  Council Member Smith made a motion for Council Member Hart to conduct the meeting for tonight.  A second by Council Member Capehart and the motion was approved unanimously.

 

Council Member Hart opened the meeting at 6:00 P. M.  Council Member Smith opened meeting with a prayer. The Council led in the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

*Cottonwood Rescue used 4,707 gallons of water for the month of August.

 

*The Mayor prepared a letter for Mr Windsor and also a copy of the Attorney General on behalf of golf carts.  On the Council’s approval the Town will mail to Mr. Windsor.  Council Member Capehart made a motion to approval to mail Mr. Windsor the letter prepared by the Mayor on behalf of golf carts. A second by Council Member Smith and the motion was approved unanimously.

 

*Approval to purchase tires for the fire truck from Tri-State for $788.72.  Council Member  Capehart made a motion to  purchase the tires from Tri-State for $788.72 for the Fire Truck.  A second by Council Member Smith and the motion was approved unanimously.

 

*James Whitehead went over the Audit for 2016.

 

Council Member Hart ask the Council if the State of Alabama declared a State of Emergency, if the Town would also.  Council Member Smith made a motion for the Town of Cottonwood to declare State of Emergency if the State of Alabama did.  A second by Council Member Capehart and the motion was approved unanimously.

 

There being no further business to come before this meeting, there was a motion by Council Member Adams to adjourn the meeting.  A second by Council Member Capehart and the meeting was adjourned at 6:18 P.M.
