Members Present:   Mayor Ken Hamilton, Michael Capehart, James Coachman, Ann Adams and Kenneth Hart  
 
Members Absent: Drena Weaver
 
Mayor Hamilton opened the meeting at 6:00 P. M.   Council Member Coachman opened meeting with a prayer. Mayor and the Council led in the Pledge of Allegiance.
 
*Cottonwood Rescue used 221 gallons of water for the month of August.
 
*Thursday night Pep Rally at Senior Building starts at 6:00 p.m.
 
*Patrick Amoson came to introduce his self to the Council and possibility of being appointed as legal counsel for the Town of Cottonwood.
 
*Approval to have install an Interior wall from The Glass Doctor for the amount of $4205.22 and controlled locks form Harris Security System for $900.00.  Council Member Capehart made a motion to approve to install the interior wall by the Glass Doctor for the amount of $4,205.22 and controlled locks form Harris Security System for $900.00.  A second by Council Member Adams and the motion was approved unanimously.
 
*Budget 2019 will be moved to next meet on 09/27 for approval.
 
*Approval to renew tax agreement with RDS on tobacco tax and rental tax.  Council Member Hart made a motion to renew the tobacco tax and rental agreement with RDS. A second by “Council Member Coachman and the motion was approved unanimously.
 
*Discussion on Houston County Sanitation on picking up limbs in the city limits.
 
 *Approval for the Clerk to attend School in October at the University of Alabama for the amount of $265.00.  Council Member Coachman made a motion to approve that the clerk attend school in October.  A second by Council Member Capehart and the motion was approved unanimously.
 
*Fire Department grant for turn out gear.  This grant is for 20 sets of gear. This will be a 5% match on grant. To apply for the grant there will be a $750.00 administrator fee to apply this is not refundable if grant is not approved.  Council Member Coachman made a motion to apply for the grant and pay the administrator fees pf $750.00.  A second by Council Member Hart and the motion was approved unanimously.
 
*Mayor announced that handy cape in front of Town Hall is on the list to be done.
 
*Property at 10189 has been awarded to the Town of Cottonwood.
 
 
 
*Rickey Owens has not quite the fire department.  He has stepped down from his position.
 
There being no further business to come before this meeting, there was a motion by Council Member Adams made a motion to adjourn the meeting.  A second by Council Member Coachman and the meeting was adjourned at 7:00 P.M.
